Danny Vegh’s American Dream

n 1956 Danny Vegh took advantage of the revolution and fled Hungary in pursuit of freedom. Shortly thereafter Danny found his way to the United States with nothing but a toothbrush, change of undergarments, table tennis paddle and some table tennis balls. By 1960 Danny became both the singles and doubles United States and Canadian National Table Tennis Champion. He appeared on national television 48 times including shows such as The Tonight Show and The Michael Douglas Show. In the News / Public Relations

hen Danny decided to retire from table tennis he took his name recognition and opened his first Danny Vegh’s which was a table tennis club with a small billiard room on the side. Billiards turned out to be more popular to his customers so he changed his operation into a pool room. His most well-known pool room was in the old Hippodrome building of downtown Cleveland which hosted the largest billiard tournaments in the Midwest.

ince the beginning, in 1963, Danny and his staff have been dedicated to creating a pleasurable retail environment by providing high quality products at affordable prices with an expert staff.  Danny Vegh’s now has three locations in the Northeast Ohio area and a well positioned website.  In its over 40 years of business Danny Vegh’s continues to operate under the same philosophy “we don’t just want to make a sale, we want a customer for life.”
