Although many people believe that Mr. Vegh was a professional pool player the actual story is that he was an international ping pong champion. Soon after fleeing Budapest, Hungary Danny Vegh became both the singles and doubles ping pong champion in the United States and Canada. After touring the professional circuit Danny became a nationally sought after entertainer appearing on shows like The Tonight Show and the Michael Douglas Show. Once he decided to settle down he came back to Cleveland and opened a very popular pool hall in the heart of downtown Cleveland known as the Hippodrome. Soon thereafter Danny recognized a need for a knowledgeable billiard retailer and opened his original store on Lorain Ave. In 2001 he was joined by his daughter Kathy who has identified a range of additional opportunities for the company to expand by adding a variety of product categories, implementing new systems and opening two more stores in Fairlawn, Ohio (October 2003) and in Mayfield Heights, Ohio (March 2005). Together the two are unstoppable.
